CERN is launching the Science Gateway, a new facility for scientific education and outreach in Geneva, a hub of scientific education and culture to inspire younger generations.

Housed in a new building designed by world-renowned architectural firm, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the project is funded through external donations, with the leading contribution coming from the FCA Foundation, a charitable foundation created by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Construction is planned to start in 2020 and to be completed in 2022.

Fondazione Agnelli is collaborating with CERN both on helping design the educational spaces at the Science Gateway and on defining a science education programme for European schools, which will start with a pilot initiative for Italy’s junior secondary schools.
